NKOTBSB Bring Their New Single to 'Dancing with the Stars'

With their joint tour selling out across the nation, the supergroup NKOTBSB performed on the 'Dancing with the Stars' (Tue., 9PM ET on ABC) results show. The group was a perfect fit for the "Guilty Pleasures" theme of the week, comprised as it is of the members of New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys.

They performed a medley of two of their respective classic hits, and then broke into a new single, 'Don't Turn Out the Lights.' It will be featured on their compilation 'NKOTBSB' album coming out May 24, 2011, along with another new single and greatest hits from both groups.

With both bands known as much for their dance moves as their music, it was no surprise that they shared the dance floor with the 'DWTS' troupe throughout their performances. It was certainly a fun and memorable performance.

Justin Bieber: Chill Out, Paps Are Part Of The Game, Says Nick Carter! Exclusive!

The Backstreet Boys singer has teen-star advice for Justin – don’t let all the attention get to you!

Nick Carter, who’s been in the limelight since the age of 13 just like Justin Bieber has a message for today’s teen idol — chill when it comes to the photogs who chronicle your every move!

“It’s a part of the game. It’s part of this industry and this life that you’ve chosen,” Nick explains to HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “You have to find some kind of relief and just chill out.”

New Kids On The Block and Backstreet Boys guilty pleasure it up on 'Dancing With the Stars'

Put yo' hands in the air for NKOTBSB ON "DWTS"!

In case you aren't cool like us and understand what all those letters mean, we'll spell it out for you: New Kids On The Block and Backstreet Boys on "Dancing With the Stars"!

Seriously, nothing could have pleased our inner-tweens more than having these two groups come together to form a super-group. (OK, maybe if Justin Timberlake & Co. also joined in, but that's never going to happen. Dreams. Crushed.) What's more attractive than a group of middle-aged men reliving their glory days together? Nothing, that's what!

The super group (NKOTBSB, duh!) appeared on "DWTS"' results show on Tuesday, Apr. 26, to perform their new single "Don't Turn Out the Lights" and to promote their "major" summer tour. Yes, summer tour. Yes, it's the best news ever. Oh, they were accompanied by professional dancers Tony Dovolani and Lacey Schwimmer.

Fun fact: NKOTB's Joey McIntyre was the first celebrity to ever dance on "DWTS." Welcome back, Joey!

P.S. We saw that you had to read NKOTSBSB off the stage to get it right, Tom Bergeron. We saw it!

BSB Nick Carter Loses Weight, Looks Good for an Old Guy

To the most handsome Nick Carter:

It's been a while since we last spoke. Of course, by spoke, I actually mean since I gazed longingly at the poster of you with your Backstreet Boys counterparts circa 1996 alongside my bed. But today I write because I just want you to know that I'm proud of you. At 31 years old, it looks like you've been doing pretty well for yourself. Congratulations, blondie!

First and foremost, kudos on your new gig touring as an integral part of NKOTBSB! And your solo album! It's clear you've quit playing games and you're really staying true to your promise of becoming larger than life. But what I'm most impressed with, the real reason for this letter, is your astounding 65-pound weight loss. You look fantastic! To think, it is possible to better yourself after dating Paris Hilton ...

The Five Greatest Backstreet Boys Songs Ever

By: Terron R. Moore

This week's Five Greatest Pop Songs Ever are larger than life- get it? It's The Backstreet Boys! Check out the story HERE, complete with Backstreet Boys videos.

Comeback kids

Everyone loves a comeback kid! From Michael Vick to Betty White, take a look at the famous people who miraculously brought their careers back from the dead.

Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block

Backstreet's Back ... Alright! And oh yeah, so is NKOTB. Both discarded products of the boy band craze that swept the 90s, the Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block have joined forces to form a boy band supergroup. The boys are scheduled to go on tour this summer, and it's about time too. We haven't heard anything from New Kids since they came back with their comeback album, 'The Block' in 2008, almost 15 years after lip-syncing allegations led to an eventual breakup.

As for BSB, 'I Want It that Way' continues to be a karaoke hit ten years after it was released along with the group's multi-platinum 'Millennium' album. The boys went on hiatus following a fall out with Jive records.

The group has put out a few albums since 2006, but their real comeback promises to happen this summer when they take the stage with New Kids.

Boy bands to perform during week 6 of 'DWTS'

If you love boy bands, you don't want to miss week 6 of "Dancing With The Stars: The Road to the Finals."

The seven remaining celebrities will hit the floor for Monday night's one-hour special.

New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys and Hanson will perform during boy-band week.

Judge-favorite Petra Nemcova was booted last week. The supermodel couldn't pull in enough votes from America and got the axe over fellow in-jeopardy contestant Chris Jericho.

"Dancing With The Stars" begins at 8 p.m. on ABC7.

Casserole Dish with Kevin Richardson

Actor Kevin Scott Richardson takes a break from filming Steve Balderson's movie "The Casserole Club" to dish with host Garrett Swann about relationships, food and more.

The Casserole Club Movie Trailer

Of course, we will never forget about Kevin Richardson. He will always be the one-fifth of the Backstreet Boys in our hearts. And even when he left the group four years ago to venture on other life plans, we are still here to support him. Below is the trailer for his latest movie, The Casserole Club. Enjoy!

Steve Balderson's new film, "The Casserole Club" focuses on a group of mod 1960's era suburban housewives. Close-knit and neighborly, they are all bent on one-upping each other, trying to prove that each is "the hostess with the mostess." They begin a recipe club, and hold dinner parties, testing out their new casseroles. But when the gatherings become increasingly focused on boozy flirtation, and more than recipes start getting swapped, the story moves swiftly from stylized and campy to a drama about irresponsibility, selfishness, and damaged people.

NKOTBSB: Is The Supergroup's Single a School-Dance Classic?

OMG, NKOTBSB.

The nine-man amalgamation of two formerly teen-dreamy boy bands, Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block, has dropped their first single. Now it's up to listeners to decide whether it's (1) an awesome powerhouse comeback, prime to burst their embers of fame back into full-on stars or (2) just kind of sad.

The New Kids are really the old kids on the block, predating the Backstreet heyday by about a decade. Ages in the super-group range from 31 to 42, and, taken all together, the band's combined age comes in at about 340 years — i.e., if you stretched their lives back in a line, William Penn would be encouraging English Quakers to discover this new land called "America" and Mozart wouldn't have been born yet. If Kevin Richardson, the paternal figure in the Backstreet Boys, had joined to make the group a perfect 10, we'd be talking Galileo.

An Open Letter To Nick Carter Regarding His 65-Pound Weight Loss

Dear Nick Carter,

Um, way to go on your majorly impressive weight loss of 65 POUNDS. You are no longer Larger Than Life in that sense of the phrase. That's some Jared of Subway stuff right there.

We give you props for overcoming your ten-year addiction to drugs and alcohol and getting clean, sober, and healthy. Your solo album, slated to debut on May 24 may be titled I'm Taking Off, featuring the single, "Just One Kiss," and we give you credit for taking it ALL off -- all 65 pounds of it healthfully, through diet and exercise. You've proved once and for all that not food, nor alcohol, nor drugs are your fire NOR your one desire. Why? Because you Want It That Way. We totally think Lady Gaga would let you achieve your not-so-secret goal of kissing her. Looking good, Carter! We look forward to your seeing your new svelte bod on tour with NKOTBSB.

Toodles,

Us

Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter Opens Up About 65 Pound Weight Loss

If you thought health, weight and image issues only plagued females in the entertainment arena, Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter wants you to think again.

“I freak out if I go a little too long without being in the gym. For a long time it was all about getting the weight off because I was 240 pounds at my heaviest, and now I’m around 175, so the majority of that weight loss was due to diet and exercise,” singer Nick Carter told FOX411’s Pop Tarts this week while promoting his new solo album “I'm Taking Off” which goes on sale in the USA on iTunes on May 24.

The blonde-haired, blue-eyed “Backstreet Boys” heartthrob battled a ten-year addiction to drugs and alcohol before being diagnosed in 2009 with cardiomyopathy, a weakening of the heart muscle that, in extreme cases, can require a transplant or lead to sudden death.

But since sobering up and slimming down, Carter said he feels like a “new person.”

New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys performing on Dancing with the Stars

There will be some serious talent on the dancing stage next week when New Kids on the Block (NKOTB) and Backstreet Boys (BSB) come to Dancing with the Stars to perform. The hosts of Dancing with the Stars took a moment at the end of Tuesday’s show to share some serious news that two of the hottest groups on tour would be gracing the stage.

The entertainment for the show doesn’t seem to run dry as week after week celebrities that America is familiar with grace the Dancing with the Stars stage for a knock out entertaining moment. Keeping the show exciting and always topical, the groups NKOTB and BSB will definitely have fans tuning in.

In addition to the two hot groups, Pia Toscano, the eliminated American Idol contestant from two weeks ago will be performing. This is definitely one time the show executives don’t want to be asking if the public would rather see NKOTB and BSB or Pia Toscano as the answer would be very obvious.

The Dancing with the Stars series returns next Monday to ABC with Guilty Pleasures week. While we don’t know the dances that will be performed, seeing NKOTB and BSB on the show will definitely define as a guilty pleasure in about anyone’s book.

Rolling Stone Review: Don't Turn Out the Lights by NKOTBSB

By Jon Dolan

To boy-band fans, New Kids on the Block getting together with the Backstreet Boys is like Moses teaming up with Jesus. And the gut-sucking supergroup's debut track is blue-eyed dance-pop whoosh. Every Boy and Kid gets a piece of the vocals, and we get a piece of the dream.

Fans go hysterical over Backstreet Boys

by Le Quynh Anh
The crowd exploded in screams and applause when the four Backstreet Boys leapt onto the stage. The whole stadium jumped to their feet and began dancing wildly to the hit "Everybody".

No sooner had I thought my obsession was cured, when memories of the Backstreet Boys' concert in Ha Noi two weeks ago come rushing back. The show was quite a spectacle. My friends and I had one and half hours of non-stop dancing and singing... well, screaming, while our childhood idols belted out hit after hit, accompanied by impressive choreography that unleashed a flood of excitement and anxiety.

I have to admit, it was not the rare opportunity to attend "a world-class performance by the best-selling boyband of all time", as a pompous advertisement read, that drove me to buy a front-row ticket. It was, in fact, driven by pure nostalgia.

In 1998, as a little girl with limited English, I hummed along to the Backstreet Boys infamous As Long as You Love Me, a song I learned from a borrowed VHS video tape. Thirteen years later, as a grown woman who works for the national English language daily, I could actually afford to see them live.

NKOTBSB, ‘Don’t Turn Out the Lights’ – Song Spotlight

NKOTBSB, aka the supergroup that fuses two of the most almighty boy bands to ever strike the music scene — the Backstreet Boys and News Kids on the Block — have released their debut single, ‘Don’t Turn Out the Lights.’

The upbeat pop song will be featured on NKOTBSB’s forthcoming, self-titled album, and has a classic boy band vibe, with a harmonious chorus and toe-tapping melody.

The song kicks off with a pulsing synth and 808 as the members of the collaborative vocal group take turns singing the catchy verses. The song’s lyrics are about a relationship that is fizzling out, with the nine members singing about their hopes of making it work out in the long run.

Jordin Sparks opening for NKOTB & BSB Tour

American Idol alum, Jordin Sparks, will be opening for the New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys tour! The singer headed up Britney Spears' Circus tour in 2009, so she is very familiar with how big tours work!

The announcement came as a bit of a surprise to many NKOTBSB fans, who seem to be adjusting to having a female pop singer open for their fave guys just fine. She is a pop singer, and it's just the opening act, so it's really no big deal, right? Many NKOTBSB fans are excited to have a female opener - to change things up a bit. One of the last NKOTB tours, Lady Gaga opened for them (before she was huge) ... what a real treat!

Jordin Sparks just released the music video to her new song, The World I Know, so NKOTBSB concert goers can expect to hear her sing that this summer.

Joey McIntyre and A.J. McLean Talk NKOTBSB Tour

New Kids on the Block's Joey McIntyre and the Backstreet Boys' A.J. McLean stopped by Ryan Seacrest's morning radio show today (April 5) to debut their new single and talk about the upcoming NKOTBSB record and tour.

The radio debut of NKOTBSB's 'Don't Turn Out the Lights' was subdued a bit by a leak of the song last week which hit most mainstream media outlets. But that didn't stop McLean and McIntyre from dishing some details about the supergroup's upcoming blockbuster summer tour.

The most important tidbit of information they revealed is that 'American Idol' alum Jordin Sparks will join them on tour as their opening act, but things got really interesting when they started to discuss the relationship between the two legendary boy bands. And it's not as smooth as you may think.
