Backstreet Boys heat up national stadium

(VOV) - Vietnamese fans of the world renowned Backstreet Boys band were able to see their idols in person at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi on the evening of March 26.

The show began at 8pm but the stadium had been surrounded by an excited, buzzing atmosphere since 6pm. This was the second and final night of the American band’s first tour of Vietnam, so many young Vietnamese fans could not bear to miss it.

Organizers said the 30,000 tickets for the concert had been sold out and they had to use four gateways into the stadium to cope with the crowd.

When the first sounds echoed from the speakers, the stadium exploded with chants ‘Backstreet Boys’. The entire audience later joined Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and A. J. Mc Lean in their singing and dancing.

The Backstreet Boys captivated the entire stadium with their classic songs such as Everybody, I want it that way, Show me the meaning of being lonely, and Shape of my heart as well as the new songs like She’s a dream, PDA, and Bye bye love.

After the performance, Le Thi Huong, aged 26, said that “their voices remain fantastic though they didn’t dance as well as when they were younger”.

The concert was also attended by many foreigners in Vietnam.

Several other world famous bands had previously performed in Vietnam including Il Divo and Super Junior. It is hoped that Linkin Park will perform in Vietnam this June.
